Gerry Carter

Carter has been a self-described bat fanatic since the age of five. He serves on the Board of Directors for the North American Society for Bat Research and for Bat Conservation International which works to conserve bat populations around the world. Carter started his Ohio STate lab to research vampire bats in 2018. He was recently named a Freeman Hrabowski Scholar by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI), the largest private biomedical research institution in the nation.
